Laying Comments
It is always advisable to view your chosen paving prior to purchasing at your local stockist to fully appreciate the diversity of colours in each range.
For best results in tile adhesion and to reduce possible salt staining from the base mortar on the face, we recommend that a Priming Slurry should be applied to the underside of the paving at the time of laying as this will improve the bond of the stone and the longevity of your patio.
Slate paving should not be butt jointed. A gap is required for expansion and contraction of the paving, ideally about 10 - 14mm.
A flexible jointing grout can be used but care must be taken not to let it dry on the surface of the paving. Alternatively use a traditional sand cement pointing mortar or Pointfix Jointing Compound.
Before committing to purchase any natural stone product it is always recommended that you visit your stockist to check the colour and texture of your chosen paving.
