Laying Comments
For best results in tile adhesion and to reduce possible salt staining from the base mortar on the face, we recommend that a Priming Slurry should be applied to the underside of the paving at the time of laying.
Slate paving should not be butt jointed. A gap is required for expansion and contraction of the paving, ideally about 10 - 14mm.
A flexible jointing grout can be used but care must be taken not to let it dry on the surface of the paving. Alternativly use a traditional sand cement pointing motar.
Before committing to purchase any natural stone product it is always recommended that you visit your stockist to check the colour and texture of your chosen paving.
