Brazilian Rio Slate Paving
(Featuring Sawn Ash Sandstone)
About
Pavestone Brazilian Rio Slate is perfect for the contemporary garden landscape and rustic garden settings and for use internally. It has a smoother riven, less marked surface with flowing black and grey tones. The machine sawn edges and calibrated 20mm thickness, present a 'tile' like quality to the paving facilitating easier laying, especially when using it as an internal flooring. The Rio Slate has a smoother surface and so presents a better base for delicate garden furniture.

Laying Comments
It is always advisable to view your chosen paving prior to purchasing at your local stockist to fully appreciate the diversity of colours in each range.
For best results in tile adhesion and to reduce possible salt staining from the base mortar on the face, we recommend that a Slurry Primer should be applied to the underside of the paving at the time of laying. Addition of SBR Bond as an additive to the base mortar mix will improve the bond of the stone and the longevity of your patio.
Slate paving should not be butt jointed. A gap is required for expansion and contraction of the paving, ideally about 10 - 14mm.
A flexible jointing grout can be used but care must be taken not to let it dry on the surface of the paving. Alternatively use a traditional sand cement pointing mortar or Pointfix Jointing Compound.
