Sawn Ash Sandstone Paving
Background

Pavestone was established in 2003 when founder Kevin Fowler, a staunch producer of concrete paving for over 20 years, recognised the potential market opportunity to substitute sales of traditional concrete paving with that of imported natural stone paving, for little if any increase in cost. He set about demystifying the products and began marketing natural stone paving to Builders Merchants’ in 'easy to lay' patio project packs.

Pavestone enjoyed rapid growth in the ensuing years and today is one of the UK’s leading authorities in the supply of natural stone paving, walling and edging products into the domestic landscaping market.

Recognising a responsibility for the environment and welfare of the workers in the supply chain Pavestone became a founder member of the Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI), an alliance of companies, trade unions, charities and campaigning organisations that work together to improve working conditions in global supply chains.
Pavestone sources natural stone from audited, ethically responsible stone processors and is actively involved in specifically targeted industry projects for continuous improvement in working conditions for our supply chain workers in India.

In 2007 Pavestone acquired the business of Bekstone, a pre-cast concrete manufacturer. For over 60 years Bekstone has been producing high quality reconstituted stone walling in Burford, Oxfordshire, for building works in and around the Cotswolds. Most often specified, the walling has helped to preserve many of the famous idyllic Cotswold towns and villages gloriously quaint appearances.

Developing on the success locally, Bekstone now produces sympathetic walling products suitable for most of the UK’s domestic cities, towns and villages to meet the specific needs of the local environments.

Strategic expansion of the manufacturing facility continues and today a broad range of landscaping and building products are manufactured, including concrete building blocks, cast stone, paving as well as the traditional walling blocks. All can be supplied alongside our imported natural stone products to create a most comprehensive offer.

Pavestone patio paving, walling, driveway block paving and complementary landscaping products are available nationally through a large number of selected builders' merchant and landscaping centre stockists.
