The Carbon Trust Standard is awarded to organisations that have genuinely reduced their carbon footprint and have committed to making further reductions year on year.
There is increasing public demand for all organisations to take responsibility for their carbon footprint. But, until now there hasn’t been a standard that defines good practice, or clearly distinguishes those organisations, which are actually reducing their carbon footprint. Plenty of organisations claim to be green, carbon conscious and environmentally friendly but consumers are becoming increasingly sceptical towards such claims. The Carbon Trust Standard has been designed to cut through the confusion and provide a much needed, clear and robust definition of good practice. It is the definitive proof of Bekstone’s commitment to, and achievement of, carbon reduction. Achieving the Carbon Trust Standard demonstrates a genuine commitment to carbon reduction and confirms Bekstone’s green credentials. It recognises and validates the work Bekstone has done, and the financial and carbon savings we have made. The Carbon Trust standard is awarded to organisations that measure, manage and reduce their carbon footprint. Organisations that achieve the Standard are taking real action to reduce their direct impact on climate change.
